For those wishing to build a custom Samurai sword on a CAS Hanwei blade, we offer these bare blades in shirasaya. All are forged and differentially hardened in the same traditional fashion as the “forged” and “forged & folded” line of swords. The "Shinto Blade in Shirasaya" has the same geometry as the Shinto Classic blade but is ungrooved to facilitate its use in building a cutting sword. The "Folded Steel Blade in Shirasaya (Bo-Hi)" is that used on the Tiger Katana and includes the grooves (bo-hi) featured on that piece, while the "Folded Steel Blade in Shirasaya" is the same blade without grooves.
